How to Submit a Story, Article, or Photo
If you enjoy writing, and you’d like to share a true story about horses, we’d love to hear from you! We are also accepting submissions for informative articles and photos. We’re looking for submissions from all ages, backgrounds, and disciplines.
- Stories from diverse equestrians and horse enthusiasts from any background, discipline, or location. Tell us what you love about having horses in your life! Share how you think the equestrian community can grow and improve. Your story can be funny, serious, inspirational, or anything in between. This must be original, previously unpublished content (300 to 1000 words). Please include a brief (approx. 50-word) “about the author” paragraph.
- Articles that can inform readers about issues and topics related to the horse world. Informative articles must include applicable reliable sources. This must be original, previously unpublished content (300 to 1000 words). Please include a brief (approx. 80-word) “about the author” paragraph.
- Photos of Barn Rats from any background and discipline. You may also send a possible photo to accompany a story or article. Please send high-resolution JPEG images to which you own the rights and include an appropriate attribution link that credits the creator.

- Our mission is to create an inclusive, diverse community of equestrians who can learn from and support each other. Please ensure that submissions are respectful of all groups, disciplines, cultures, and beliefs that are different from your own.
- We only publish family-friendly material that is suitable for all ages.
- We do not tolerate plagiarism.
- Please note that all articles and stories will undergo some editing by our editorial staff before publication, and we may request minor revisions. If your story is accepted, we will send you a final version for approval and notify you of its projected publication date.
- We do not currently offer compensation for submissions but may be able to at some time in the future.
